Underwater Photo Enhancement
Taking an underwater photo presents a truly unique set of problems. The conditions are truly harsh in comparison to taking a photo on land. Scuba diving requires a great deal of the photographers attention just to have a safe dive let alone take flawless photographies. Travel to remote sites, many thousands of miles from home, leave little chance for a do over.
So what you come home with in your camera is what you got.
You may have traveled half way around the world for a photo and spend thousands and thousands of dollars and find that your photos don't live up to your expectations. There are options to save and enchance your dive photos. You can purchase all the needed software and spend hours learning how to use it or let me provide the software and do it for you.
Can all photos be made into great photos? The answer to that is
no. There are many photos that do not contain enough basic detail to be enhanced to an acceptable level. The question become how do you want your photo to look. Do you want more color or sharper detail?
Color Enchancement
The most wanted, and needed, change to any underwater photo is color enhancement. As you desent in water the amount of color you will see in your photo is reduced. At as little as 15 feet below the surface red color is the first to go followed by orange, yellow and green. Upon reaching 75feet most photos will have a deep blue cast. A flash is or other light source is the only way to correct this underwater. Here is an example of a photo color corrected after the fact.
This image was color corrected and very little else. The cost of the enchancement for this image would have been $5.00 USD. The image would be emailed to the send at no charge or send on a DVD or CD at a cost of $5.00 plus postage. Prints can also be made at the size you request. Cost for prints given at request.
This was an easy image to correct many are not and that is why upon receiving and image a free estimate is done. That estimate
is based on what you want done to the photo not what I feel should be done. I am more then glad to give my feedback on what I think of the photo.
